
As we very well know by now, those pesky Gallagher brothers are officially back, with the Oasis reunion tour having kicking off in Cardiff on Friday 4th July. The Oasis boys have made their huge homecoming stint, with five gigs at Heaton Park in Manchester in total, and it’s fair to say town is already in full Oasis fever. With all of this going on, it’s difficult to keep up with everything that’s happening, so we’ve put together a handy guide of things to do in Manchester in the run up to and during the Oasis gigs, whether you’ll be jumping about in a park in Prestwich, or not.

Diecast Champagne Supernova Bottomless

Diecast is stepping up as the essential pre-party destination – with the launch of Champagne Supernova Bottomless. New Century Official After Parties

After the Oasis gig on Saturday 19th July, official afterparty will take place at New Century Hall, allowing both those lucky enough to have been to the gigs, and the majority who missed out, to come together in celebration of the occasion.
An iconic occasion deserves an iconic afterparty line-up, so coming to entertain the Manchester crowd at the New Century Oasis afterparty are the likes of Happy Mondays mover and shaker Bez, Inspiral Carpets’ Clint Boon, Mani from The Stone Roses, Tin Tin (New Order Tour DJ), Col White (Vinyl Revival) and Ricco (Creamfields) all DJing from 11pm – so attendees are in for an absolute Manc treat!

Celebrate the return of Oasis at Mother Mary’s as they host pre-shows and afterparties for each gig. The venue is throwing a huge party featuring special guest DJs, live bands, plenty of Manchester anthems, immersive lighting and visuals, and more. Expect to hear bangers from the likes of Oasis, New Order, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, Primal Scream and more. The events are for over 18s only and run from 12pm until 3am.

Deaf Institute after party

Kimpton Clocktower Oasis Exhibition

The city’s iconic Kimpton Clocktower Hotel has lanuched a new free exhibition, offering music fans a walk down memory lane. Oasis Fans – 1994-1997 shows a series of never-before-seen photographs by renowned photographer Jon Shard, who opens the door to a world before online sales, dynamic pricing and frantically refreshing a website to get the hottest ticket in town.
The collection of photographs, co-curated by the British Culture Archive, shows scenes of fans excitedly queuing up in the cold winter of 1996, hoping to get their hands on tickets for the band’s sold out shows at Manchester City’s Maine Road stadium – for as little as £17.50 per ticket. Renowned for his visually distinctive work across a number of fields, this was Shard’s first assignment for NME – the iconic music bible that shaped generations of music journalism and culture.

Music for the Senses Art Trail

Music for the Senses, a city-wide art trail by global art producer Wild in Art, has taken over the streets of Manchester this summer until August 31st as the city welcomes 1.3m music fans to one of the biggest summers the city has ever seen. Raising money and awareness for grassroots music venues and projects, the trail will feature over 80 artworks, murals, mosaics and installations that celebrate the people, places, moments and instruments of Manchester’s music scene.
Celebrated musicians including Busted, Doves, Elbow, Mani, New Order, Oasis, PINS and Pixies have donated precious instruments to display in windows across the city including Aviva Studios, Piccadilly Records, Koffee Pot, Band on the Wall, New Century, and Selfridges, plus many more. Plus, an interactive installation is in place for the duration of the trail on King Street called ‘Guitar Street‘, lovingly repurposing publicly donated guitars.

Admire the new Oasis Mosaic at Afflecks

Definitely Maybe, Manchester’s only Oasis-themed bar and live music venue, has teamed up with Afflecks and renowned mosaic artist Mark Kennedy to bring a new mosaic of Liam and Noel Gallagher to Manchester city centre.
Taking its place on the wall outside the shopping emporium on Tib Street as part of the world famous mosaic wall, the mural joins the display of existing artworks by Mark Kennedy featuring legendary faces associated with the city including Eric Cantona, Karl Marx, Morrissey, Emmeline Pankhurst and Ian Brown amongst others. So whilst you’re mooching around the shops why not give this mosaic a visit?

Take a look at some rare Oasis memorabilia displayed at Hard Rock Cafe Manchester

Seven rare pieces of Oasis memorabilia have been brought out of storage in Florida to go on display for a limited period at Hard Rock Cafe Manchester, to coincide with the band’s summer reunion gigs at Heaton Park.
The items – which include a prop from the ‘What’s The Story (Morning Glory)?’ album cover shoot and a shirt once worn by Noel Gallagher – have not been publicly displayed for several years; they have been shipped from Hard Rock Cafe’s famous warehouse in Hollywood, Florida, known as ‘The Vault‘, which acts as a repository for the famous brand’s world-renowned and vast collection of rock and roll memorabilia.
