Manchester’s Circle Square development is fast becoming one of the hottest places in town to enjoy Asian cuisine, not only welcoming the uber-cool Hello Oriental venue just this year, but also the upcoming Monkey Trio bar – which is set to be Manchester’s first-ever Japanese sake bar.
Set to bring sake, whiskies and matcha beers, guests will be able to enjoy the unique bar from this May, however, be warned, if you’ve not had sake before, you might wanna go easy! The traditional Japanese alcoholic beverage boasts a 15–22% ABV, and is served in small cups called ‘Choko’ to sip from.
Alongside Monkey Trio, Bird of Prey will also open this May – bringing ‘superior fried chicken’ served American-style. Expect chicken and waffles, fries and milkshakes, in contrast to the numerous Asian businesses opening including Tsujiri; a Japanese matcha dessert tea house, and Momo Cosmetics; who’ll specialise in Korean skincare.
Max Bielby, Chief Operating Officer from Vita Group said: “Circle Square is fast becoming Manchester’s go-to destination with new restaurants and retailers opening each month, there’s a real buzz surrounding this new community and what’s to come and we can’t wait for Manchester to get its first Japanese sake bar with Monkey Trio and Tsuiri, showstopping fried chicken and waffles thanks to Bird of Prey and Pan-Asian teas and cosmetics with Uncle T and Momo.”
