It’s The Refuge’s first-ever Afternoon Tea.
Not a measly finger sandwich in sight, The Refuge’s first-ever Afternoon Tea has officially arrived, and it’s the sweetest new addition to the Manchester foodie scene.
Putting a “contemporary twist” on the classic social event, guests will be able to take to the venue’s stunning Winter Garden, which is complete with plush decor including sparkling trees, hanging baskets and lavish velvet seating. The gorgeous space – which is the perfect retreat for a refreshing G&T – takes centre stage in the middle of the venue, with the Public Bar and Restaurant surrounding the cosy hideaway.
Now, guests will be able to catch up with friends over a selection of tasty treats – all of which are sure to have the sweet tooths among us absolutely salivating. Boasting some seriously impressive cakes and creations which are presented on a three-tier cake stand, guests can tuck into treats such as fig battenberg, passionfruit and white chocolate opera cake, spiced carrot cake, choux buns and black forest gateau, as well as more savoury items such as scones, pork and kimchi sausage rolls, cheddar cheese custard with flatbread crisps and oak-smoked salmon.
Jack Dennett, General Manager of The Refuge by Volta, said: “We’ve been working on creating this Afternoon Tea with our signature twist for some time, and we’re very excited to share the experience with friends of The Refuge and Kimpton Clocktower Hotel. Finally, Manchester’s favourite hangout, our remarkable Winter Garden, is now home to the city’s newest afternoon tea.”
Launching on July 20th, guests will be able to enjoy the new Afternoon Tea every Tuesday-Thursday from 1pm-4pm, with bookings open now here. Afternoon Tea costs £29.50pp, and includes a pot of hot tea or coffee. A brand new cocktail list is also available to take advantage of, with Peach Tea Bellinis, Breakfast Marmalade Martinis and Negroni Sbagliatos on the menu.
