In a city where ingenuity is just second nature, you could say it’s pretty hard to predict what the next new ‘thing’ is gonna be. Which is exactly why we were completely blindsided by Crumbled – the new dessert spot we never even knew we needed.
Founded by Manc-born fashion model and former Britain’s Next Top Model contestant Chloe Peers, Crumbled opened its doors within Mala’s Secret Garden last year – serving up a modern take on the classic crumble for the Instagram generation.
Born out of a love for baking and a year-off modelling as a result of the pandemic, Crumbled offers an ever-changing menu, combining the art of home-baking with a contemporary twist – mixing up the flavours with specials such as Prosecco and peach and Rolos with Biscoff, among classics such as apple crumble and rhubarb and strawberry. The result? A nostalgia trip right back to our school days, where classic British puds were the highlight of our worry-free days.
Using 100% fresh, British produce to create the core of her desserts, each pot is completely smothered with custard, which customers can even make unlimited for just £1 extra. And if you fancy something extra Instagrammable, Chloe also offers up a toasted pink marshmallow topping – which is both tasty and picture-perfect. What a combo.
The new location follows success at Wolf in Spinningfields, with most days selling out before 3pm.
Open Wednesday-Saturday from 12 noon until sell-out, Mancs can get their hands on a pot at Mala Secret Garden, 19 Lever St, M1 1BY.
