Making a name for itself in Manchester since its debut at Spring Gardens in 2019, Six by Nico has now announced that it will be opening a second location in the city. The restaurant known for its themed tasting menus which change every six weeks is continuing its UK expansion with a new spot on John Dalton Street this autumn.
Due to increased demand at the original Spring Gardens restaurant, the second venue is due to open its doors from November 30 and will create an additional 72 covers in the heart of the city. The second Manchester location just off Deansgate marks the fifteenth restaurant for the Six by Nico Group since launching in Finnieston in Glasgow 2017.
The creative six-course tasting menu at Six by Nico Deansgate will be priced at £39 per person, with the option to enjoy an expertly selected drink pairing with a £30 supplement. Every menu will have a six-course vegetarian menu available.
With earthy, natural and warm tones, the restaurant transitions from laid back lunchtime settings to lively evening vibes, with a full cocktail list and wine service – serving cocktails inspired by each menu, plus signatures such as Nico’s Three Aged Cocktails.
With large woven hanging features taking centre stage, combined with interiors inspired by the cotton ball, plus rich, timber stains and antique brass embellishments throughout, the Deansgate restaurant subtly nods to Manchester’s cotton and textile history.
Founded by chef Nico Simeone, Six by Nico, offers guests a delectable and affordable menu. The name itself tells the story of the core idea behind Six by Nico, renowned for creating a new six-course tasting menu, changing every six weeks, with dishes inspired by places, memories, or imagination. Previous tasting menus have included ones inspired by a chippy tea, Alice in Wonderland and the region of Catalonia, which is currently being served.
Nico Simeone said: “We are very excited to be opening our second venue in the vibrant city of Manchester.
“Since launching in 2019, our Spring Gardens venue has gone from strength to strength, prompting demand for a second site in the heart of the city. The support we have had from the people of Manchester and further afield, as well as the team we have had there since day one, have all helped make a second-site possible.
“Our aim at Six by Nico is to help our guests create memories and stories together, by pushing our creative boundaries with a new menu every six weeks. We look forward to welcoming new and regular guests when Six by Nico Deansgate opens its doors on 30th November.”

The new restaurant has revealed the first menu as “Cooking Tokyo” which will feature from November 30, 2023 – January 14, 2024. Curated by Nico Simeone, following a research trip to Tokyo earlier this year, the menu takes inspiration from street-food favourites and Japanese classics curated and adapted to celebrate Japanese food and the very best ingredients.
The six-course tasting menu also includes a snacks menu featuring Tuna Nigiri with Wasabi, Pickled Ginger & Soy or Miso Broth with tofu and seaweed. The selected aperitif to accompany the Cooking Tokyo menu is Sakura – a tasty combination of gin, cherry, ginger, lemon.
