Manchester, and the North West for that matter, is buzzing with music events and festivals when summer comes around, and now Lancashire’s newest music festival, Oak Fest, returns to Oak Hill Park in Accrington this summer. Set amongst the beautiful 21.4 acre park, just an hour outside of Manchester, Oak Fest will return for its second year on the back of a hugely successful inaugural festival held in 2023, holding the 2024 event on 27 July.
The first ever Oak Fest attracted 5,000 people to Oak Hill Park, and this year organisers are planning to go bigger and better with the first paid ticketed format and an ambitious and exciting line up including international star Kate Nash. The festival will welcome the British pop icon as the headline act, on the back of the release of a brand new album and a performance at Glastonbury Festival in June, not to mention a meteoric rise to fame in 2007 with her iconic hit Foundations.
Other acts taking to the stage include Manchester legends Bez and Rowetta, Amsterdam indie pop powerhouse Pip Blom and New Orleans brass and 90s dance fusion band Mr Wilson’s Second Liners, so you can bet you’ll have a whale of a time.
A homegrown talent stage will also be curated by local promoters and alongside the music there’ll be plenty of other fun activities for kids and grown ups too including silent discos, crafts and more. Plus there will be a community makers market and a feast of independent street food, so you’re covered for entertainment and keeping full.
Lucy Dusgate, Hyndburn Head of Culture and Heritage, said: “We couldn’t be more excited about the return of Oak Fest this July. We’re proud of the programme so far and our vision is to put Accrington on the map with a big and exciting programme that will grow year on year.
“Oak Fest is part of a vision to make Hyndburn a place where residents can experience some of the best culture in the UK – we want the people of Hyndburn to be proud of Accrington and all it stands for.”
Early bird tickets for Oak Fest are now on sale, priced at just £15, here.
Oak Fest is a full day out with gates opening at 11am and closing at 10pm, and a free shuttle bus will take festival-goers to the site directly from Accrington train station.
📍 Oak Fest takes place at 113 Manchester Rd, Accrington, Lancashire, BB5 2NY.
