Christmas is a time for giving and one Manchester bar that’s giving back this month is The Jane Eyre. And they want your help too. The bar situated by Ancoats’ Cutting Room Square is asking Mancs to help feed those in need throughout December, and in return The Jane Eyre will reward those generous people with free pints.
With the aim of ensuring as many people as possible have full bellies over this festive period, as nobody should go hungry, all you need to do is simply bring in three much-needed items. The Jane Eyre will then gift you a free pint in return for your generosity.
Manchester Food Bank are asking for donations of the following items: tinned fish, UHT milk, coffee, shower gel, soap, tinned fruit and tinned vegetables. When making your donation, please note the food bank cannot accept donations of opened food items or toiletries.
The Jane Eyre will gather all donated items and deliver them to the food bank on behalf of all customers. Your contributions ensure to help those in crisis and work towards supplying those who need it most with food parcels made up of three days’ worth of balanced and nutritious selection of foods.
As well as offering free pints in exchange for donations, The Jane Eyre has also unveiled plans for a social media advent calendar, which will will run from December 1 to December 21. The Ancoats bar are giving the people of Manchester a chance to win a prize a day for three weeks leading up to the big day.
The three week-long Jane Eyre event will encourage the bar’s Instagram followers old and new to simply tag a friend who deserves to win a bit of festive cheer in their advent calendar post. Prizes, which can be redeemed throughout December and January, include cocktails, bar snacks, bottles of wine, a Sunday side or cash vouchers to be redeemed on-site. Best of all, the top prize is a complimentary meal and drinks for a table of four.
