Manchester is brimming with brunch spots but one place that sets itself apart is Hampton and Voúis with their Instagrammable French toast and pancakes. However, this much-adored venue for all things brunch opposite Albert Square and Manchester Town Hall is now branching out by opening a second location in the city.
Almost six years ago since its inception, the independent Manchester coffee house said the response has been all they hoped for. Now Hampton and Voúis (pronounced ‘voo-iss’) has arrived in the Northern Quarter to open their second site on High Street.
Situated inside The Landmark, this second spot from the brunch connoisseurs also appears larger than their original site near the Town Hall and in a prime location in the Northern Quarter you can sit with a coffee and watch the city go by. You’ll find velvet chairs and high stools as well as a wonderful counter filled with a delicious array of baked goods to choose from like brownies and cinnamon swirls.
Serving quite possibly some of the most beautiful plates of food in Manchester, Hampton and Voúis is a brunch-lover’s paradise. The pancakes and French toasts in particular are decorated with plenty of finesse and pops of colour making the dishes almost too pretty to eat. Their Biscoff French toast is a stunner and served with Lotus Biscoff sauce, caramel sauce, Lotus biscuit crumble and vanilla ice cream, with optional berries.
Their granola bowls and açai bowls are decorated lovingly with toppings to make them look like a work of art. Studded so elegantly with the likes of granola clusters, mixed berries, coconut, pumpkin and chia seeds, you might hold back a little diving in with your spoon (photo opportunity, of course) but once you’re getting stuck in it is glorious.
Hampton and Voúis also offers a wide selection of savoury breakfast and brunch options many of which come served on crunchy toasted sourdough bread or a gluten-free option on request. You’ll find your classic avo on toast on the menu but elevated as it’s topped with sundried tomatoes, pumpkin seeds, chilli flakes and house-made basil dressing and the option to add poached eggs, feta cheese or smoked salmon.
Hampton and Voúis also serve up a Voúis Madame – a toasted sourdough sandwich, filled with ham, Emmental cheese, topped with a poached egg and French mustard dressing – as well as a variety of grilled sandwiches perfect for a lunchtime bite.
It’s not just the food that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye, the drinks are too. From red velvet to matcha latte, pink and golden chai to peanut butter hot chocolates, the hot drinks are pretty dreamy.
