Following the success of its first location in Manchester, which opened late last year, Blank Street Coffee has launched a second store in the Northern city. The popular New York coffee chain, which has taken London and now Manchester by storm, has set its sights on Manchester’s Cross Street as the next place to bring its accessible, specialty-grade coffee to.
Known for their TikTok-viral drinks (such as the Iced Blueberry Matcha), and celeb visitors like Molly-Mae Hague, the second Blank Street Coffee in Manchester welcomes even more coffee fans. Offering everything from the humble Flat White to its new delicious Matcha Menu there’s something for everyone.
The café brand first launched as a coffee cart in a Brooklyn diner back in 2020, with a reimagining of what a coffee store could look like. Focusing on smaller stores, they were able to funnel money into sourcing “top of the range specialty graded coffees from around the world”.
Blank Street opened up their first location in London in the summer of 2022, and now their green-and-white-fronted stores can be found all over London at 29 different locations. The coffee brand expanded up north for the first time in December 2023, opening a location in Piccadilly Gardens and now a second spot close to King Street and hot chocolate aficionados, Knoops.
Ignacio Llado, UK Managing Director at Blank Street, said: “The launch of Blank Street’s first Manchester shop in December last year exceeded all our expectations – and with fans calling for us to open more across the city, we are delighted to be able to launch our second venture into Manchester today.
“The opening of our Cross Street shop means we’re able to bring our high quality products, great service and frictionless customer experience to more people. We look forward to welcoming even more Blank Street fans to meet for matcha, or enjoy their favourite coffee.”
Blank Street also recently launched a new spring menu which includes a new Cherry Cold Brew and two new mouth-watering matcha flavours that are perfect for afternoon sipping. Served over ice or hot, sip on the like of Golden Matcha (ceremonial matcha with turmeric, cinnamon and ginger over oat milk) or White Chocolate Matcha (ceremonial matcha over white chocolate oat milk).
Blank Street is open from 6:30am and can now be found at 62 Cross Street, Manchester, M2 4JQ and Unit 2, Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester, M1 1LS.
