Gooey; the Insta-famous bakery known for their daily fresh cookies and doughnuts, and recently approved by pop singer Lizzo, has announced that it will be bringing back one of their most popular specials; the Rolo Cookie. However, fans of the Gooey Rolo Cookie can get hold of the sweet treat from a different location, one of Manchester’s top steak restaurants, Hawksmoor, for one week only.

Available on the Hawksmoor dessert menu from Monday 18th September until Sunday 24th September, the Gooey Rolo cookie can be enjoyed by anyone dining in the restaurant or drinking in the bar. Consisting of milk chocolate cookie dough dipped in Belgian milk chocolate and then filled with a sticky caramel centre – the Gooey sweet treat conjures memories of the original chewy caramel Rolo goodness we all know and love.
With three sites now across Manchester, Gooey has gained cult status over the years and has become a Manchester institution despite only starting up just before the pandemic hit. Known for their warm, gooey cookies and sugar coated stuffed brioche doughnuts; with classics, specials and crowd-pleasers all made from scratch daily.
Their cafe on High Street in the Northern Quarter also serves up croissants, cruffins and pastries alongside the most mouthwatering, freshly made brunch and lunch dishes. Each with their own Gooey touch, customers can indulge in the likes of the Gooey French Toast stuffed with dulce de leche and The Tofu Sando – now know as ‘The Lizzo’ since the popstar gave it 10/10 in a TikTok review of her Gooey order.
The Gooey Rolo Cookie is available at Hawksmoor, 184-186 Deansgate, Manchester, M3 3WB from September 18 to September 24 at both the restaurant and bar.
