Plans have been revealed for a new 51-storey tower in Manchester with a dog spa, virtual driving range, and podcast studio as part of the next phase of the Great Jackson Street development. Already home to Deansgate Square and other skyscrapers, including the tallest building in Manchester (Deansgate Square South Tower) currently situated at 200m (656ft) tall, these new proposed plans will see a new tower, known as Contour, join the area.
The South Tower will soon be overtaken by new neighbour Plot D, at 213m to become the city’s tallest building. But it won’t be the only new addition to the area, with the Contour tower being revealed this week.
Developers Renaker say the project will offer “luxury living for people who appreciate detail”, boasting a range of amenities on its website which include private garden terraces, indoor suites and lounges, a gym, a Peloton spin space, a workspace area, a dog park and more. The developers of Contour have even gone as far as creating the best scent to be greeted with as you step into the concierge area (notes of oud infused with rose and amber, if you must know).
Plus, that’s not all. Future residents will find a dog spa, Mahjong room, virtual driving range for keen putters, and a space called ‘The Studio’ equipped with microphones which can be used for podcast recording.
Contour is one of four skyscrapers listed in a planning application submitted to Manchester City Council last year featuring two 51-storey towers in the bid, alongside two 47-storey buildings. The application, which is currently waiting on approval by Manchester council planners, is part of the next phase of the Great Jackson Street redevelopment.
Across the four buildings, there will be 1,746 apartments, and 483 car parking spaces, which will sit around a new, 1.5 acre public square. Flats in Contour will start at £275,000 for a one-bedroom apartment, £385,000 for a two-bed, and £600,000 for a three-bed. Prices for the penthouses are set to be revealed at a later date.
