‘Tis the season to crack out the board games and be merry on fizz, mulled wine and more. Taking two popular pastimes of the Christmas period, one Manchester spot has combined them to create the city’s first ever bottomless board game brunch.
Taking place on New Year’s Eve (December 31), 1pm-5pm, GRUB will host this boozy, board-game filled brunch in collaboration with Dungeons and Flagons. After the success of their regular ‘Board Game Brunch’ slot at the venue, Dungeons and Flagons are introducing the fun of fizz to a New Year’s Eve special edition of their event.
Dungeons and Flagons are an independent tabletop gaming events company who are passionate about introducing board gaming to as many people as possible at their fun, friendly and interactive events. Guests can expect access to over 200 board games, 90 minutes of bottomless drinks as part of the ticket including fizz, mimosas, house pints and house wine and extra party games to celebrate the most fun night of the year. Plus, there will be hosts on hand to help, whatever the level of board game experience alongside freshly cooked street food available from GRUB’s line up of independent vendors.
This event is accessible to everyone – guests can come alone or with pals – it doesn’t even need to be bottomless. Standard tickets are £2.50 and include entry and access to the board games for four hours. Bottomless tickets are £22.50 and include entry, access to the board games for four hours and 90 minutes of bottomless drinks. Guests can choose to start their bottomless at either 1.30pm or 3.30pm.
Swiftly after the bottomless board game brunch, GRUB will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Party Games Party from 6pm to 9pm. With a nod to classic games nights and house parties, guests will arrive in teams and play party games against each other. This event will be the perfect pre-drinking party for those looking for some pre-countdown fun.
If you’re into games like Pictionary, Speed Jenga, Charades or Articulate, you’re in for a treat. The New Year’s Eve Party Games Party will consist of four rounds of classic party games hosted by GRUB’s resident quizmaster with a collaborative party playlist where guests can pick the songs playing in the background.
Party-goers can choose between a standard ticket (includes a house drink and entry), or a VIP ticket (includes entry and 120 minutes of bottomless drinks such as fizz, mimosas, house pints and house wine). The bottomless board game brunch and New Year’s Eve party are event expected to be busy, so to secure a spot here.
