As Ramadan is almost coming to an end, it means the Eid celebrations aren’t far behind. To celebrate the end of the fast, Indian and Pakistani restaurant Zouk in Manchester is set to host a four-course set menu especially for Eid, with the option of curry or roast, depending on you preference.
Every family has their own traditions at Eid and Zouk understands that while some guests love to tuck into their favourite curry, others like to indulge in a traditional raan roast. This year for Eid al-Fitr at Zouk, the chefs have created two delicious options to celebrate, which will be served at the table (as opposed to buffet-style) on April 22, costing £35 per person.
If you select curry, then a selection of dishes will be brought to your table so that you can enjoy not one but three delicious classic curries. Indulge in the likes of chicken and spinach curry, lamb rogan josh and sindhi biryani along with katchumber salad, pilau rice and freshly baked naan bread.
Alternatively, if you prefer a Sunday roast style feast then Zouk’s roast sharing platters include three roasted meats (lamb raan, beef topside and chicken raan), spicy gravy and all the classic trimmings (including big Yorkshire puds). All the guests in your party must choose the same option, as the dishes are sharing platters or karahis for several people. And to finish, guests can tuck into an assorted dessert platter.
Plus, on the evening of April 21, when the last fast ends (known as Chand Raat) Zouk will be hosting their final Iftar buffet. The restaurant will be having a party alongside the Iftar buffet with plenty of entertainment including traditional dancers.
There will also be henna artists present for guests who wish to have their henna done on the night. The buffet for Chand Raat will be a similar menu to Zouk’s Ramadan buffet however with some extra desserts to indulge in.
There is also a new display for Eid at Zouk where families and friends can take photos to remember the occasion by. Booking for both events is recommended and customers are asked to book online on the website if their party is 10 people or less and for parties of 11 or more need, send an email to manchestermanager@zoukteabar.co.uk or call the restaurant.
