1. Reserve Wines
You’ll find Reserve Wines situated within the lively Mackie Mayor (as well as Altrincham Market and West Didsbury) – and here they also host wine tastings, but mainly from their Didsbury tasting room. Reserve Wines hosts monthly wine tasting events which vary in theme from TV tipples to styling events accompanied by vino, plus collaborations with local businesses like Chorlton Cheesemongers and Honest Crust. Plus, if you’re not able to attend an in-person event, why not try their blind-tasting kits? It’s a great way to taste wine at home and the answers to the mystery wines are sealed in an envelope to open at the end.

2. Manchester Wine Tours
If you fancy wine tasting with a walk then Manchester Wine Tours is worth booking onto. Offering visitors a guided tour around the city centre, you’ll visit some of the best places to drink and buy wine in Manchester along the way. You will be guided in small groups on a leisurely three-hour jaunt where you’ll be able to sample a few glasses en route, as well top notch nibbles. This is a great opportunity to try something new, learn the characteristics of different varieties and even discover a new favourite.

3. Grape to Grain
Situated just off Prestwich‘s main high street Bury New Road, Grape to Grain offers both wine to take away and sip inside as well as explore the world of wine with tastings too. The wine bar hosts in-store tastings on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons with some specialising in specific types of wine from Prosecco to Pinot Noir. Grape to Grain also host tastings accompanied with food varying from cheese to crisps, steak to sushi that are perfectly paired with the wine.

4. KERB
KERB is a cute wine bar tucked nestled in Manchester’s Ancoats offering casual wine tastings and chilled out events. The wine tastings at KERB are the perfect opportunity to sample a range of wines and not having to commit to one bottle or glass on the menu like in a restaurant. The Ancoats wine bar, which feature taps pouring beautiful, natural wine from them, welcomes anyone to their casual tastings, and needn’t be intimidated or require a certain level of knowledge to be able to enjoy.

5. Manchester Wine School

If you’re quite the oenophile then head to Manchester Wine School who run regular wine tasting sessions and also wine courses including WSET qualifications if you fancy taking your wine appreciation to the next level. Taking place across a number of venues in Manchester, you can book a variety of wine tasting sessions including an introduction to wine (with the option to add lunch), learning wine by country, champagne and sparkling masterclasses or cheese and wine matching.
