… And by ‘get merry’, we mean tipsy on this season’s hottest drink: mulled wine. An absolute staple at Christmastime, the season isn’t done right without at least one taste of the warming brew, and luckily for us, there are plenty of places to get your hands on a mulled wine this winter in Manchester.
1. Manchester Christmas Markets
Probably the most festive thing to do in Manchester, the Christmas Markets are among the best in Europe – providing hundreds upon hundreds of Bavarian stalls to potter around. In addition to all the quirky, Christmassy gifts, guests can also enjoy festive tipples, too, including mulled wine, boozy hot chocolates and so much more in those signature festive mugs.
2. Bar Hütte
Popping up again this year, Bar Hütte is back with a ton of wintery huttes at the Great Northern Warehouse and for its first year at Kampus. There, guests can enjoy mulled wines, boozy hot chocolates, beers and more, before taking to their own hutte for a bit of Christmas karaoke, or hiding in the bar and enjoying the festive atmosphere.
📍 Bar Hütte, 235 Deansgate, M3 4EN | Aytoun St, Manchester M1 3GL.
3. A Miracle on the Avenue
Spinningfields sees the first ever iteration of A Miracle on the Avenue, and my god, do they do a good mulled wine. With impressive sleighs, giant candy canes, a Santa’s Grotto, a selection of immersive games as well as a large seating area, the 400-capacity space is open seven days a week from 12pm until 1am. An of course, you can pick up a festive mulled wine whilst you’re there.

4. The Oast House
It wouldn’t be winter without The Oast House‘s curious teepee, now, would it? Back for 2024, The Oast House is serving festive vibes by the bucketload this year – alongside a menu of warming drinks including mulled wine and winter cocktails. Pop in next time they have a band on and enjoy the season’s hottest drink.

5. Nova Star at New Century
Known as Nova Star, the new intergalactic festive experience has landed at Sadler’s Yard, home of New Century in the NOMA district. Santa has gone intergalactic with a celestial space-age tipi which is home to a whole galaxy of festive food, shimmering cocktails and ice-cold beer on tap. Visitors can expect a cosmic Christmas and a totally unique experience at Sadler’s Yard in Manchester.
There’s plenty to warm the cockles with mulled wine, cider and hot diablesse clementine rum, all in this cosy city centre spot. Why not hide out during a day of Christmas shopping?
