If you’ve been deeply invested in the Manchester food scene (like us) for quite some time, you’ll likely have heard of Triple B by now. Formerly behind Eat New York – which was positioned on Oldham Street pre-pandemic – Triple B brings American-inspired bagels, burgers, and more to Prestwich. But there’s one dish, in particular, that has us (and the rest of the internet) enamoured.
A firm favourite since launching on the menu back in 2020, the French Dip sandwich has long been loved by those in the know. Why? In a nutshell: It’s great value, packed with wafer-thin roast beef, swiss cheese and onions, and served with the most addictive, rich gravy to dunk in. It might be French, but if you ask us, you can’t get any more Northern than that.
Reaching new heights of viral fame at last year’s Christmas markets – when the team behind Triple B had their very own stall in the city centre – the lunchtime treat has been tried and tested by almost every food blogger worth their salt in the North West, so naturally, Secret Manchester had to get in on the hype, too. For the sake of you, dear reader, of course.
Now, we eat a lot of food, we’ll admit. And Manchester is packed full of amazing grub. But there’s one word that resounded after taste-testing this bad boy, and that word was: Heaven. The beef? Tender. The flavours? Unreal. The gravy? Thick. Just how we like it. There are very few contenders, if we’re honest – this is one of the dreamiest lunches around.
Watch our review below:
In addition to their viral French dip sandwich, Triple B also serves up an array of juicy, stacked burgers, proper New York bagels, loaded fries and more – all piled high with moreish fillings such as pastrami, salt beef, fried chicken and pickles. Like we said, proper New York vibes.
Vegans needn’t fret, either, as the bagel joint also serves up a selection of just-as-naughty plant-based bagels.
The French Dip sandwich is available on the current main menu, and you can find Triple B at 24 Bury New Rd, Prestwich, Manchester, M25 0LD.
