Last night (November 3), the This Is Manchester Awards 2022 took place to celebrate a special line-up of individuals and organisations chosen for their unique contribution to the city. Awards were presented at the fourth This is Manchester Awards, hosted by Jenny Powell and Scott Thomas, to rising stars from the world of fashion, entertainment, sports, hospitality, technology, property, as well as those that have contributed to the betterment of the Greater Manchester community.
Some of the winners from the hospitality sector included Fazenda for ‘Leading Formal Dining’ beating the likes of Australasia, Dakota Grill, Tattu, The Black Friar, The Ivy Asia, Wood, The Bull & Bear and Rosso. Habas, famous for their massive grill platters, won the award for ‘Leading Newcomer in Hospitality’ and the home of the much-loved winter tipi, The Oast House, won the award for ‘Leading Bar of the Year’.
Alongside the shortlisted businesses, organisations, charities and individuals across various industry categories, the Supernova was presented to serial entrepreneur Dr. Nighat Awan OBE, CEO of Shere Khan Group, recognised for her charity work, specifically that which aims to support the young people, women and disadvantaged groups in Greater Manchester. Previous winners of this prestigious award are John Roberts (AO.com), Fred Done (Bet Fred) and Marcus Rashford MBE.
