Manchester is of course a magnet for the most legendary, influential musicians in the world, but now our city is about to outdo itself. Fronted by the iconic Robert Smith, The Cure – one of the most influential and iconic bands of all time – will headline Live From Wythenshawe Park next year, bringing some of the most famous music in the world to South Manchester.
Live from Wythenshawe Park has quickly become one of Manchester’s most anticipated live music series, welcoming major headline acts to the city for unforgettable summer shows.

When will The Cure play Wythenshawe Park?
On Friday 21st August 2026, The Cure is set t0 treat the Wythenshawe Park crowd to a concert to remember, promising another huge summer after the likes of Blossoms, New Order and Fontaines DC headlining the inaugural years.
Formed in Crawley, Sussex, in the late 1970s, The Cure have shaped the sound of generations with their unmistakable style and uncompromising artistry. Since their first show in 1978, they have performed nearly 1,800 concerts worldwide, released 14 studio albums, more than 40 singles, a collection of concert films, live albums, box sets, books, soundtracks and much more.
Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019, The Cure continue to define alternative music nearly five decades into their career. Expect to hear tunes from throughout their incredible career, including Friday I’m In Love, Boys Don’t Cry, Inbetween Days, Just Like Heaven and so many more – plus some nostalgic yet fresh new material.
Who will be supporting The Cure at Wythenshawe Park?
Joining them will be shoegaze pioneers Slowdive, whose shimmering soundscapes and acclaimed return to form have earned them a new generation of fans. Alongside Manchester’s own The Slow Readers Club, one of the city’s most compelling live acts, known for their anthemic blend of indie and electro-driven rock.
