We’re suckers for a good children’s character in Manchester, whether it’s Thomas the Tank Engine, The Gruffalo or cute throwbacks to the likes of Lilo and Stitch and Hello Kitty. Now, cheeky little Shaun the Sheep, the original Shaun we all know and love – television star, Oscar winner and all round icon – is set to entertain and delight all ages in several forms of sculpture on a colourful outdoor trail at Tatton Park.
In partnership with Wild in Art and Aardman, the supersized Shaun the Sheep sculptures have been designed and painted by local and regional artists, some inspired by the flora and fauna you’ll find in the gardens from around the world.
Look out for a vegetable-adorned Shaun grazing in the Walled Kitchen Garden, and a blossoming Shaun framed by the Japanese Garden cherry blossoms… can ewe find them all? Pick up a trail sheet (£1) and explore Tatton’s 50 acres of glorious spring gardens. If you can solve Shaun’s puzzle along the way, you can collect your reward sticker at the end of the trail.
Find your favourite Shaun, snap a pic and enjoy all Tatton Park has to offer. Look out for some great Shaun merchandise and plush toys to take home, available to buy from the Gift and Garden Shop.
Tatton Park is full of fun for all the family, so once you’ve discovered all the Shaun’s, you can explore the beautiful gardens, frolic in the playground, or have a gander through the historic house. Tatton Park also hosts its own RHS Flower Show annually, so rest assured, it’s full of the best flora all year round, plus, there’s a working farm on the site for interactive time with curious kids.
🕛 Shaun the Sheep: Find the Flock is running at Tatton Park until 23 June 2024, and is open daily 10am – 6pm (last entry 5pm).
🎟️ Visitors should book garden entry here to gain access to the sculptures.
