The weather may not have been on our side so far this summer but here to make us ‘feel good’ is one of Manchester’s gorgeous hotels and bars. Introducing a wellness programme and fun schedule of activities good for the body and soul, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel and The Refuge has also launched a summery terrace courtesy of Malfy Gin.
The activities will take place on The Refuge’s outdoor terrace space this summer, with a wellness programme running every Saturday until the Come As You Are weekender Pride takeover from Friday 25th to Sunday 27th August. The line up this summer includes wellness classes, live DJs and al fresco vibes inspired by the Amalfi coast.
The Refuge has transformed its terrace with a summer spritz thanks to Malfy Gin, bringing plenty of sunshine to the space, including a swing, lemons galore and Mediterranean décor in shades of yellow, blue and white. Think Italian goodness in the heart of the city with themed cocktails including Malfy Gin-infused slushes and Malfy Gin spritzes.
The bar’s ‘Feel Good’ terrace is open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until August 20. Each Saturday will host a DJ line-up made of the finest selectors in the city every Saturday from 2pm until late.
If you’re after a bit of mindfulness in Manchester this summer, Kimpton Clocktower Hotel is hosting a a special morning of meditation, movement and art with Emma of Thorlby Yoga and Caroline Dowsett. Open to people of all levels of experience, the event will begin with a 30-minute guided meditation, followed by a mindful art session where creative potential will be unlocked exploring various themes and styles.
Plus, this month sees the return of the Come As You Are weekender to the terrace as part of the Manchester Pride celebrations, with Saturday 26th night to be headlined by multi-gold record holder DJ Paulette. Set to bring sets of uplifting house, party hip hop, raw rare grooves, soulful vocals and blistering funk to diamond strewn disco, jacking deep house and tearing techno, it’s not one to miss. Colleen ‘Cosmo’ Murphy, who has remixed the likes of Roisin Murphy, The Rapture and Chaka Khan, will be headlining Sunday 27th on the terrace.
Throughout the weekend DJs will take over the terrace with the very finest disco and house tracks for an all-day soirée. The weekend will see the return of Jamie Bull to The Refuge, plus regulars Jaegerossa, Eve’s Drop Collective, Swindells, Jim Bane and more are set to bring you everything in between to keep the groove going all weekend. The Hush Club will also be hosting sets in their sequined DJ booth.
