Attention chocoholics and turophiles (yes, there’s a name for cheese lovers)! The popular festival dedicated to all things chocolate and cheese is returning to the Greater Manchester market town of Ramsbottom this weekend, making for a great day out.
When and where will the Ramsbottom Chocolate and Cheese Festival take place?
The Ramsbottom Chocolate and Cheese Festival will take place on Sunday 29th March from 11am until 4pm, with tickets priced at £1 for adults. There will be activities happening in Ramsbottom Civic Hall, around ‘The Urn’ sculpture on the town square and around the gardens of St Paul’s Church on the main road running through Ramsbottom.

What to expect at Ramsbottom Chocolate and Cheese Festival
Taking place in the charming town north of Bury, visitors will be able to peruse a number of stalls brimming with the dairy delights. The festival will also include live music within the Civic Hall, demonstrations, a creative space for children, a roaming magician as well as tasters of the delicious chocolate and cheese brought in by local businesses, including Kick Ass Cheese’s Chilli & Chocolate Cheddar.
In addition, local businesses will also be open for visitors and getting involved in the festival. Bar No 5 Rams will be serving up chocolate cocktails and offering visitors 20% off, wine merhcant The Vineyard will be hosting wine tastings, and bakery Loafi will be serving Eccles cake with Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire cheese and a selection of their chocolate tarts. Plus, Room 54 will have a special Croque Madame sandwich on the menu for the occasion and Vino & Vibes will be hosting a bottomless experience with cheese and charcuterie boards and chocolate espresso martinis.

The event originally began in 2009, solely dedicated to chocolate, but in 2023, the annual chocolate and cheese festival decided to make a return for the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic. Home to chocolate shop, Cocoa Tree, and previously the site of The Chocolate Cafe, the town has been a popular destination for chocolate lovers since the shop and festival were established.
