This time of year, things can get a bit overwhelming, and many of us couldn’t think of anything better than getting away. Luckily for us, there’s an entire converted pub within the gorgeous Peak District countryside called the Poacher’s Arms, which is ready and waiting to host you and all your friends and family for a weekend – or longer – of fun, rest and relaxation.
With every detail thought out to accommodate large groups and prioritise socialising, whilst making the most of the beautiful surroundings, the Poacher’s Arms is completely perfect for shaking off the stresses of the festive season, and enjoying each other’s company – with the twist of a fully functioning bar and iconic nods to the Great British pub.
Where is the Poacher’s Arms?

The huge converted pub and restaurant is in the village of Hope in the Hope Valley of Derbyshire, in the heart of the Peak District. Located in spacious grounds with ample off-road parking for 25 cars this beautiful house provides a wonderful base for family celebrations and holidays.
What to expect from a stay at the Poacher’s Arms

The Poacher’s Arms boasts seven double rooms and two twin rooms with en-suite bathrooms, two of which have added bunk beds, sleeping a total of six people in one room, and four in another – all are equipped with their own TV with Freeview.
Eight of these rooms are all on the first floor, with the ninth being situated on the ground floor – ideal for those who do not wish to climb the stairs, including older members of the family. This is all notwithstanding the three sofa beds, which sleep another six guests… that’s a capacity of 24, in case you were wondering.

A large modern kitchen is well-equipped to cater for large parties with more than adequate appliances, including large range cookers, and ample dining facilities.
The conservatory serves as a large dining room with adequate seating for everyone to all sit together around one large table. Two large sitting rooms provide all the comfort you would expect with comfy seating and smart TVs.
Aspiring landlords can try their hand at pulling a pint behind the bar

Situated between the sitting rooms is the lovely original bar which is in full working order for those evening get-togethers and for aspiring landlords in the party. There is also a games area with a selection of table games and books, table football and a smart TV and games console to help occupy the younger members of the party.
Outdoor space at the Poacher’s Arms
Outside is a large, enclosed gravelled area with a paved patio, a charcoal barbecue and plenty of outdoor seating for groups to relax and drink in the fresh air whilst planning what to see or where to go next.

There’s also an enclosed children’s play area with swings, slide and climbing wall, so you can sit back and relax knowing the children are safe, plus a secure lockable steel shed for any bikes and outdoor equipment.
