World Pasta Day is just around the corner and it’s pretty much the excuse we need to shovel countless bowls of pasta in our mouths- it’s getting cold after all, and what’s more comforting and satisfying than pasta? However, coinciding with the day dedicated to possibly one of the best carbohydrates out there (go on, fight me) is a new Italian pop-up concept, Nonna’s Pasta, that’s rolling into Manchester to bring us some good, hearty bowls of freshly-made pasta.
Opening up at The Green Lab venue in Deansgate Square on October 26 from 5pm, Nonna’s Pasta will take residency until Christmas offering an authentically entertaining dining experience with Nonna’s twist on old classics. Customers can choose from a range of indulging appetisers including arancini with pesto and taleggio cheese; white wine infused gamberoni; burrata with prosciutto ham, rocket and truffle cream; and freshly prepared mussels, with prices starting from £4.
When it comes to pasta, Nonna knows best. For the main courses, the pop-up will offer an exciting range of Nonna’s recipes including Nonna’s Cacio Pepe, a tasteful twist on the classic Italian sauce. Posh Nonna Goes Wild (truffle Mafaldine with creamy truffle sauce with wild mushrooms and parmesan), Nonna Hadid (Rigatoni all vodka- but Gigi has nothing on Nonna’s recipe) and Nonna Goes to America (truffle mac and cheese) are just a few of the hearty dishes to choose from, which are prepared each evening with prices ranging from £9 to £16.
Not complete without an accompanying cocktail; the drinks menu doesn’t disappoint with a range of familiar favourites such as Negroni, Old-Fashioned, Bloody Mary and Nonna’s Italian Mule. Customers can also choose from a range of martinis including the must-have Espresso Martini and Vodka Martini.
You’ll also find a range of wines, spirits, juices, smoothies, and hot drinks to sip on whilst Nonna cooks you up something beautiful to eat. Plus, you can finish your meal with a divine dessert with Italian classics such as tiramisu, lemon meringue tart and gelato on the menu. You can book your table here.
Find Nonna’s Pasta at The Green Lab Deansgate Square, 7 Owen Street, East Tower, M15 4YB from October 26.
