Autumn has come around once again which means Bonfire Night is not far away. Here to brighten the darker days and nights once again is Freight Island and Mayfield Park as they are set to host an epic fireworks display for three nights in a row.
Taking place on the weekend before Bonfire Night, Freight Island and Manchester’s first new park in 100 years, Mayfield Park, will be starting the festive season with a literal bang as they present ‘Fireworks Extravaganza’. Renowned for innovative and exciting design work, Walk the Plank is set to light up the sky with a spectacular 10-minute fireworks display.
John Wassell, Co-Founder of Walk the Plank, said: “It’s great to be working with Freight Island again and designing a show for this year’s Fireworks Extravaganza. Their focus on music really allows us to create an experience where sound and fireworks work together seamlessly. This event will be an exciting blend of music and fireworks against the backdrop of the stunning Park, offering something memorable for everyone.”
The Bonfire Night event will be hosted across four sessions, with three displats taking place on Friday 1st November, Saturday 2nd November and Sunday 3rd November, with doors open from 5.30pm until 7pm, with the show starting at 6.30pm. There will also be a late session on Saturday 2nd November with doors opens from 7.30pm until 9pm, with the show starting at 8.30pm.
Conveniently located right next door to Mayfield Park, Freight Island hosts a range of kitchens and bars including premium smashed burger from Burgerism, giant 22” pizza and slices from Voodoo Ray’s, slab shack from Lazy Tony’s Lasagnaria and much more. In true Freight Island style, Bonfire Night will be accompanied with remarkable entertainment, with DJs sets and live music throughout the evening.
