Tomorrow night, Manchester goes blue.
NHS staff are tirelessly working to stem the tide of the coronavirus outbreak, and Manchester is planning to show its support tomorrow night. From 8pm on March 26th, shops, homes, and businesses are planning to light up blue to give thanks for the hard work of all NHS employees across Manchester and beyond. And you’re invited to get involved! (Featured image: Manchester Central, via Twitter)

Already, some Manchester spots like the Manchester Central Conference Centre have been illuminated in blue, but more are aiming to join them in a show of solidarity. Any business with the ability to turn itself blue is invited to get involved, and if you’ve got any blue Christmas lights kicking around the attic, you can partake too. Doesn’t even have to be Christmas lights, to be honest – feel free to get creative!
Online, people are being encouraged to turn social media banners and logos blue, and share any glow-ups with the #LightItBlueMCR. I know turning Manchester blue is a pretty touchy subject for United fans in particular, but it’s all in the service of a greater cause!
