The annual light trail at Dunham Massey is always a hit with families from in and around Manchester, making the festive season that bit more magical. Now, the same brains behind the Dunham Massey trail, and the spectacular Kew in London, have branched out further north, launching a Christmas music and light trail for the popular Heaton Park.
Christmas at Heaton Park will provide another festive highlight for Manchester between December 1 – 31, with everything you need for an unforgettable time with friends and family as well as four-legged loved ones. There will be breath-taking seasonal lights as never seen before, including colour-changing orbs of light stretching out into the distance, larger-than-life flowers and neon strings that reach high into the sky.
Wander through a laser garden filled with thousands of tiny beams of light and into a giant twinkling tunnel that surrounds you with sparkle, and immerse yourself in the tantalising world of thrills, spills and the sweetest of treats at the fairground village.
Grab a seasonal snack from one of the hand-picked street food vendors who bring an indulgent twist to the menu on offer. Complete your walk under the stars with a perfectly festive spiced winter warmer, hot chocolate or toasted marshmallow and share it with someone special.
Matthew Findlay, Head of UK Trails for Sony Music/Raymond Gubbay Ltd, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing this beautiful new trail to Manchester for 2023. We’re collaborating with the team at Culture Creative, who have a wealth of expertise in designing and delivering light trails.
“Working sympathetically with the landscape and history of Heaton Park, we have created an unforgettable, immersive experience illuminating the special beauty of the location, suitable for all the family to enjoy this Christmas.”
Early December dates still have availability for off-peak time slots, in which adult tickets are just £15 and children aged 3-16 are £10. Infants aged 2 and under go free. A family ticket during off-peak times cost £47. Off-peak slots start as early as 5pm on some evenings.
