Back for 2023 and here to lift our spirits, Dunham Massey has brought back their stunningly festive illumination trail this November and will run throughout most of the Christmas holidays. The after-dark illuminated trail created by Culture Creative will be bringing all the festive feels to the historic National Trust venue, along with three new light installations.
The event, which will be its seventh run this Christmas, will transform the beautiful formal gardens and deer park with festive lights trailing throughout. The incredible installations are undoubtedly a sight to behold, with plenty to see for kids and adults alike. Christmas at Dunham Massey is full of seasonal surprises and shimmering reflections that cast light on beautiful silhouettes of majestic trees, all choreographed to a soundtrack of festive favourites.
Gasp at the huge strobe effects that flood the park and waterside with colourful lights, walk through light-covered tunnels (brilliant for photos) and walk alongside artistic-looking light sculptures. New for 2023, discover colour-changing batons of light stretching out into the distance; a huge silver star, Nova, shrouded in mist as if just fallen from the sky; and star-shaped arches high above you. There will also be a magical glimpse of Father Christmas along the way.
Matthew Findlay, Head of UK Trails for Sony Music/Raymond Gubbay Ltd, said: “Positive public feedback was overwhelming last year and we urge everyone to come and see our exciting new innovations for 2023. The trail will be a fantastic combination of spectacular new creations and some classic favourites, which will delight visitors young and old in what has become a festive family tradition for so many.”
At Dunham Massey you’ll also find independent street food vendors serving tasty treats as you walk past the glimmering light installations created for this year. Complete your walk under the stars with a spiced winter warmer or hot chocolate or by toasting marshmallows over an open fire for a warm and sweet seasonal treat.
