GRUB is one of the most successful Manchester institutions out there, and with many, many people relying on it for their incredible street food, pub quizzes, Cultplex cinema and so much more, we thought it best to let the masses know that a big move is afoot.
In a Instagram post, GRUB said: “We just wanted to let you know 2025 will be GRUB’s final year at our current home. But DON’T PANIC!
“The only reason for this is that our fantastic landlords (who have supported us through thick & thin) are getting round to re-developing the building we live in. This was supposed to happen in 2021 so we’re very happy we’ve managed to hang around for 6 years.
“So GRUB at Red Bank will cease to exist in winter 2025 but that isn’t the end for GRUB as we’ll be returning to THE STREET. Yes GRUB will go back to being a travelling food fest packed with the best street food chefs, pop up bars & unbeatable vibes that only a proper street food market can deliver.”
So, as of the end of 2025, GRUB will be on the move, back out on the street, going back to its roots serving the people of Manchester. GRUB is on a mission to put the ‘street’ back in ‘street food‘, with venues already lined up for the summer, and more to come on the horizon. But before all of that, GRUB is having one last smashing summer at Red Bank before the move with a few foodie surprises and special events, with exciting news coming soon.
GRUB is also encouraging anyone who has their heart set on having a gorgeous wedding at the Red Bank venue to get in touch ASAP – with the venue having a special place in the hearts of many, it’s bound to fill up.
On their Cultplex cinema, GRUB said: “If you’re a fan of our little indie cinema @cpxmcr don’t stress, it WILL be moving to its own space ASAP. It’s been a big success so we were already on the lookout for bigger auditoriums, we’re on the hunt with a few leads & will be confirming a new location very very soon.”
GRUB also reminds visitors not to forget about their newer venue, Fairfield Social Club, which is here to stay in its Angel Meadows location. This year looks like it’s going to be huge with lots of new events, never-ending amounts of great comedy, plenty of beers flowing as well as a brand new food menu and a huge summer BBQ. They add in their post: “If there’s a regular event you love at GRUB it’s likely it will hop on over to FSC. Keep your eyes peeled!”

We’re so excited to see how GRUB evolves, and will most definitely be making the most of the Red Bank location before it’s gone!
