It’ll be his third venue in Manchester.
Following the success of Gino D’Acampo’s My Restaurant Manchester and his My Pizza & Prosecco Bar in the Manchester Arndale, beloved TV chef D’Acampo has teamed up with INNSiDE Manchester on a brand new Italian all-day-dining experience – which is set to open next week as further lockdown restrictions begin to ease.
Forming part of a new, exclusive partnership between Gino D’Acampo Hotels & Leisure and Meliá Hotels International, the new restaurant will be known as First Street Bar & Kitchen, and will be the first of many new exciting, international locations providing ‘an exceptional food and drink experience for both hotel guests and locals alike’.
The opening will see a huge investment of £250K for new kitchen facilities, a revamped and extended terrace that wraps around two sides of the building and seats 120 guests, as well as an open-plan restaurant and lounge with room enough for 200 guests. The lounge and restaurant features a bright, summery Mediterranian vibe – tying in the ethos of Gino D’Acampo’s brand.
If that wasn’t all, the outdoor terrace attracts the sunshine all day long, making it the perfect sun trap to visit this summer.
The lounge and restaurant will also be home to a brand new Spritz Bar – a large, copper-effect island bar with seating for 40 people. The bar will champion classic Italian drinks such as the Aperol Spritz, Pino Spritz and more, as well as cocktails, wines, and beers. Local DJs will be providing the ambience on a frequent basis, too, making it a one-stop destination for post-work dinner and drinks.
On the menu, guests can expect signature Gino dishes such as boneless sea bass with Tikka spices, meatballs in a spicy tomato sauce with chilli and basil and served with toasted ciabatta and cod a la plancha with chorizo, new potatoes, cherry tomatoes and rosemary. The signature dishes will be joined by a menu of fantastic tapas-style small plates, with dishes such as Parma ham bruschetta, crispy rice croquettes, fried chilli squid and truffle cheesy fries.
Speaking on First Street Bar & Kitchen at INNSiDE Manchester, Garry Fortune, Cluster General Manager at Meliá Hotels International, said: “This is a very exciting development for the hotel as we look ahead to the full reopening of the hotel and restaurant on May 17.
“Whilst the last 12 months have had a significant impact on the hospitality industry, we’ve had the luxury of time to develop our offering and focus on exciting brand partnerships. We’re thrilled to work with Gino D’Acampo and his team to bring a brand-new destination to Manchester, adding a new dimension to his existing portfolio of restaurants in the city.”
Gino D’Acampo added: “After many years of talking to Meliá about a partnership I am super excited to be working with Garry and the team.
“I want First Street Bar & Kitchen to not only provide incredible food to hotel guests but to be a destination for food lovers to hang out from morning until night in cool surroundings.
“Manchester’s an incredible city and to have the opportunity to open a third restaurant here and in partnership with INNSiDE Manchester, is a real honour. It will have a totally different feel to that of my other restaurants, in keeping with the hotel’s beautiful design, with my team working in partnership with Meliá to deliver the highest standard of food service for guests, whether they are dining in my restaurant, attending a conference or celebrating a special occasion.”
