The run-up to the opening of Co-op Live in Manchester has been pretty intense, what with the delayed opening night and so many announcements coming in constantly. With the likes of Take That, Peter Kay and Stevie Nicks having announced dates at Co-op Live, there’s been everything but sport announced… until now. Arriving in Manchester on Saturday 27 July, UFC 304 is the first-ever sporting event announced for Co-op Live, the UK’s largest indoor arena.
The card marks the first sporting event announced for Co-op Live, the UK’s largest and most sustainable live entertainment arena. With state-of-the-art technology and a carefully curated unique design, the venue promises to bring fans right into the heart of the action.
The Co-op Live arena boasts the largest floor space of any indoor venue, a significantly lower ceiling and tiered seating that brings fans closer to the artist, or in this case, the match. It’s set to be the perfect setting for UFC 304, the first sporting event to be announced for Co-op Live.
For those who aren’t clued up, UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship), the world’s premier mixed martial arts organisation, is embarking on its first European event of 2024, UFC 304. UK MMA is currently experiencing what is being described as an unheralded golden era, with stars such as welterweight champion Leon Edwards, interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, and local favourites, including Paddy Pimblett, Molly McCann, Muhammad Mokaev, Michael Page, and Arnold Allen, with more rising through the ranks − so UFC 304 in Manchester is set to be a treat for UK fans.
UFC President and CEO Dana White said: “I’m so excited to get back to Manchester. And no better time than this summer. We have two champions from the UK and fans have been dying for a UFC PPV event. So here we come to the largest indoor arena in the UK. See you soon, England!”
The £365m Co-op Live arena has hosted its first test live event with performances from the likes of Rick Astley, Everything Everything, The KTNA, and a special appearance from McFly’s Danny Jones.
