As we anticipate the imminent opening of the brand new Co-op Live arena in April, the performance announcements continue to come in thick and fast. It has now been announced that legendary singer, songwriter and storyteller Stevie Nicks will perform on July 9 at Co-op Live Manchester.
Stevie Nicks has played a pivotal role in shaping the global music scene and still holds incredible influence today. Best known for her iconic contributions to the rock band Fleetwood Mac, Nicks joined the group in 1975, introducing her distinctive voice, poetic songwriting, and captivating stage presence.
Her impact on Fleetwood Mac’s success during the late 1970s and early 1980s, particularly with the release of the highly acclaimed album Rumours, solidified her as a musical powerhouse. The album sold over 40 million copies worldwide, making it the 5th best-selling album of the 1970s and the 9th best-selling album of all time.
Undoubtedly an icon, Stevie Nicks is synonymous with some of the most well-known songs ever, with lead vocals on Fleetwood Mac tracks like Dreams, Landslide and Rhiannon, and of course incredible success in her solo career with universally recognisable tunes like Edge of Seventeen and Leather and Lace − and we’re hoping to hear some of these when she hits the Manchester stage in July.
Earlier in 2024, Nicks announced that she would headline BST Hyde Park 2024, marking her first UK date in seven years, and is a feat undertaken by undisputed icons like Stevie Wonder and The Rolling Stones, so she’ll fit right in. She will also be playing a date in Glasgow on July 6, making the Manchester date at Co-op Live one of only three opportunities to see Stevie Nicks in the UK this year.
