Manchester Neapolitan pizza institution Ciaooo has announced in an Instagram post that they will be opening a second restaurant in the city. In the post they said: “SOMETHING NEW IS COMING FROM US. 😁 Pizza in a different style that’s very close to our heart.”
Ciaooo has come on leaps and bounds since its opening in 2018, becoming a cult favourite amongst Mancs alongside the likes of Rudy’s, Nell’s and Double Zero. The Ciaooo signature puffed-up authentic crust is what sets the independent pizzeria apart from the crowd, and has kept customers interested with wacky inventions such as their deep fried lasagne carbonara and deep fried chocolate ravioli.
This news has our ears standing at attention as we attempt to predict what this “different style” will be. There’s also the mystery of ‘where‘? The Instagram post gives away hardly anything, pretty much just showing the gutted innards of a nondescript space and a stunning, shiny new pizza oven.
Rumour has it that the new pizzeria will be located at the up and coming Deansgate Square, alongside outlets such as Flourish and Nonna’s Pasta, but don’t quote us on it! It would certainly contribute to the pull of this burgeoning eating, drinking and retail hub, adding value to the seemingly ever-growing high rise glass structures popping up on Manchester’s skyline.
Wherever the new Ciaooo outlet will be, we’re sure it’ll be a success given the popularity the OG pizzeria has earned, and with interior designers Daniel James involved, there’s no doubt it’ll be beautiful. Always modern with industrial touches, the spruce that the interior company boasts inside establishments including Salvi’s Deansgate and Lonocove in the Northern Quarter is nothing short of lavish, whilst retaining the heart of each individual business and its connection to the city.
We’re super excited to hear more about the expansion of Ciaooo, and even more excited to try whatever they have in store for us next!
