Frequented for their flavourful ramen bowls, Japanese-inspired small plates and range of meticulously-made cocktails into the early hours of the morning, Cocktail Beer Ramen + Bun (CBRB) was a firm favourite in the Manchester hospitality scene prior to its sudden closure in February 2023. Now CBRB is making a comeback in Manchester with what is expected to be a high-demand takeover at New Wave Ramen on Tib Lane on Sunday 31 March… a resurrection appropriate for Easter Sunday.
The collectivistic values of the Japanese culture have been brought to New Wave Ramen’s intimate space on Tib Lane, successfully establishing themselves as a mutual friend in the UK ramen restaurant circuit, having already hosted takeovers from the likes of Matsudai from Cardiff, and most recently London-based Kanada Ya.
New Wave Ramen summarises their mission in a simple statement; Native Produce, Japanese Soul; and visitors can expect nothing short of that during the CBRB takeover. Guests can once again experience the dishes CBRB became so loved for including the spicy Nagoya, soft shell crab Kare ramen and the vegan Tantanmen.
This particular collaboration, as part of a series of takeovers at New Wave means both former CBRB patrons and newcomers can enjoy the nostalgia and esteemed dishes respectively, whilst experiencing the excellent service in a relaxed space New Wave Prides itself on.
If you’re a true Ramen enthusiast, don’t hesitate to secure a place at the takeover here.
