Brought to us by our pals over in Liverpool, Bold Street Coffee has become a cult favourite since its 2010 inception, and after opening a branch on Manchester’s Cross Street it seems us Mancs cannot get enough of their coffee and legendary breakfast sarnies.
Opening up their fourth venue and second Manchester branch at University Green on September 30, Bold Street Coffee will be offering the same breakfast and lunch menu as Cross Street, allowing the people around Oxford Road to see what all the fuss is about. Guests can enjoy a selection of fresh pastries with their coffee along with signature Bold Street Coffee Frys, Egg Boxes and bowls of Super Porridge and Granola. The coffee shop also offers a wide range of delicious butties, including their Chicken Katsu Club and classic Egg Mayo.
Vegans are well catered for with plant-based options including a roasted Chickpea and Avo Butty served on granary bread with beetroot hummus and rocket. There’s even a high-protein option for those keeping an eye on their macros with a ‘No Carb Box’ packed with scrambled egg, melted cheese, bacon, mushroom, tomato, avocado and rocket.
The Bold Street Coffee breakfast staple though is their Buoys that rival Maccy’s morning muffins, so of course the coffee shop is bringing those bad buoys to Oxford Road. Ya basic egg buoy is a lightly toasted brioche bun packed with scrambled egg and melted cheese. Other variations include Sausage Buoy, Bacon Buoy, and a Veggie Buoy with hash brown, fried egg, avocado, mushroom, cheese and onion jam.
There’s even a vegan buoy with a vegan brioche bun, aubergine patty, scrambled tofu, hash brown, vegan cheese, spinach and onion jam. Want to go all out? Try the popular Bad Buoy packed with a sausage patty, fried egg, cheese, avocado and hollandaise sauce.
Like all other Bold Street Coffee sites, the University Green branch will be both family and dog friendly with Babaccinos and Puppaccinos available on request. Bold Street Coffee University Green will also have its own range of BSC House coffee beans as well as guest roasts to purchase along with some home brewing equipment.
