The hit BBC television show The Traitors had the nation hooked with its celebrity version (with 15 million people watching the final episode of the celebrity series live, in fact), but as the the fourth civilian series kicks off, much to the joy of us faithful viewers, applications are now open for the next series to be filmed in 2026. If you or someone you know fancies four weeks of strategy, deceit and backstabbing, then why not apply to be on the fifth series of The Traitors?
Do you think you could outwit your opponents and decipher who is appearing a bit suss? Perhaps you could give some of the contestants a run for their money and outsmart all the Faithfuls to become the best traitor…
Studio Lambert, the production team behind The Traitors is looking for fun, smart and strategic players to take part in the ultimate game of trust and treachery! Filmed in a magnificent castle in the Scottish Highlands that requires travelling on a steam railway passing unbelievable views it’s likely to tempt many, but remember The Traitors is a competition series built on strategy and suspicion, and do you have what it takes?
The Traitors involves a team of players competing in a series of missions, the more missions they complete successfully, the bigger the prize pot. However, hidden amongst the players are the ‘Traitors’, who meet in secret each night and decide who to eliminate from their fellow players known as the ‘Faithfuls’.
The aim for the Traitors is to stay undetected until the end, the aim for the Faithful is to banish all of the Traitors before the game ends. Throughout the series, there will be twists, turns, shocks and surprises for the players and the tense wait to find out who does or doesn’t show up to breakfast.
In terms of application requirements, you must be or will be at least 18 years old at the time of applying for The Traitors and be available to take part in the programme for up to 4 weeks currently anticipated to be in summer/autumn 2026. Plus, you are asked whether you would choose to be a ‘Traitor’ or a ‘Faithful’.
Contestants can expect trickery, betrayal and backstabbing. Do you think you have what it takes to play? Don’t want to do it alone? You can always bring your mum along too… But watch out for the fizzy rosé!
