Just when we thought pizza couldn’t possibly get any more special, it did. Created at the hands of the team at American Pies, the restaurant has introduced a seriously carby treat to their menu: the Doughrito – the pizza burrito hybrid.
Joining their already delicious menu of Chicago-style deep dish pizzas and an array of doughy sides and starters, the Doughrito is made from a pizza base, before being packed up with a variety of fillings, wrapped into a burrito, and topped with cheese and pizza sauce. The result is something saucy, messy, but bloomin’ fantastic, providing a whole new way to enjoy the not-so-classic pizza.
Launching late last year, the range includes a number of options, including a garlic bread or pizza burrito, packed with fillings such as fried chicken, cheese and so much more. American Pies promises “all manner of combinations”, alongside dipping sauces to add even more flavour to the pizza burrito.
Back this month by popular demand, American Pies’ garlic bread burritos have returned with a beef wellington garlic burrito featuring an 8oz fillet steak, wild mushroom duxelles and peppercorn sauce is set to launch on November 28th. If that wasn’t all, guests can enjoy a whole host of deep dish, saucy pizzas, garlic knots, deep-fried calzones and so much more naughtiness.
American Pies was founded earlier last year by the team behind North American-inspired Brewski, becoming the first venue in Manchester to serve Chicago-style pizza.
