Dream job alert.
If you asked me what my perfect job would be – now, or when I was 10 – it would involve eating chocolate all day until the sun goes down, preferably without gaining a single pound. And while, unfortunately, nobody has yet found a way to consume your body weight in tasty confectionary without the inevitable weight gain, somebody has created the perfect job – and that somebody is beloved budget supermarket chain, Aldi.
Advertising for three Chief Easter Egg Tasting Officers ahead of Easter, Aldi is on the lookout for a serious chocoholic to take up the role, and it’s well compensated, too. And when we say “well compensated”, we mean with chocolate, obviously.
Responsible for reviewing Aldi’s 2021 Easter Egg range for the supermarket’s social media channels, the Tasting Officers have quite the job on their hands – choosing five of ten Eggs to showcase to the world. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.
Julie Ashfield, Managing Director of Buying at Aldi, said: “This year, we have an exciting opportunity for three trusty Easter egg tasters to join us, and pick their favourite products from our 2021 Easter range. Their feedback will also help our buying team create next years’ showstoppers, to ensure we’re giving our shoppers what they want.
“We’ve never before had such a wonderful variety of Easter egg shapes, colours, and flavour combinations. We want to hear from people of all ages who simply love chocolate and can help showcase our innovative range. If this sounds like eggs-actly what you’ve been looking for, be quick, the deadline for applications is March 15th.”
Aldi’s Easter Egg range currently includes a whopping Dragon’s Egg (which is twice the size of our heads), beautifully decorated eggs covered in pretty butterflies, and a number of other egg-stra special creations that *almost* look too good to eat.
To apply for the Tasting Officer position, all you have to do is create a short video explaining why you should be chosen for the role (while also showing off your fantastic personality!), including which chocolate from Aldi is your favourite. Videos need to be sent to AldiEasterTastingOfficer@McCann.com by the 15th March.
