As we step into the month of Christmas, numerous food and drink establishments in Manchester are introducing show-stopping festive feasts that are enough to have us rolling into the new year. Adding to the delicious yuletide specials is none other than the city’s favourite Alpine bar and restaurant, Albert’s Schloss, with the launch of their very own festive kebab and Christmas set menu.
There is many a Christmas sandwich on the scene right now in Manchester but Albert’s Schloss has got the festive season all wrapped up with its newly-launched kebab. Featuring all the classic trimmings of a Christmas dinner that we know and love but with a little added Alpine flair, this kebab includes apricot-stuffed turkey with pigs in blankets, sprout slaw, spicy cranberry sauce and proper gravy, all rolled into one.
Adding to the festive feastings is Albert’s Schloss’ Bavarian Feast that’s great for these bitterly cold months to share between four and comprised of roast pork knuckle, chicken schnitzel, bratwurst, kaiserwurst, honey roast pork belly with sformato, braised red cabbage, seasonal greens, rainbow sauerkraut and bier jus. The Manchester bar has also introduced its Christmas set menu, which includes haus pretzels with sweet mustard and pickles on arrival, followed by starters of either prawn cocktail, hummus and flatbread, French onion soup, little bratwursts, or chicken liver pâté.
The main event options include schweinshaxe (crispy roasted pork knuckle, seasoned with juniper, carraway, fennel, black pepper, rich gravy, red cabbage, apple sauce); roast Cheshire turkey with apricot stuffing and all the trimmings; pan roasted sea bass; cook haus cheeseburger (vegan option available); mushroom spätzle; or winter strudel filled with squash, spinach and cannellini beans. And it’s not Albert’s Schloss without some Alpine puddings. Choose from the likes of chocolate roulade with Kirsch soaked cherries and vanilla ice cream for black forest gâteau vibes or Albert’s apple strudel consisting of caramelised apple cake, spiced apple and raisin compote, filo pastry and vanilla sauce.
Plus, for larger groups celebrating this Christmas Albert’s Schloss has launched a smorgasbord which includes haus pretzels; hummus and flatbreads; cured meats and pâté; Alpine cheeses; Kreuzberg chicken; paprikash sausage rolls; authentic German sausage; roast spiced pumpkin paprikash; paprika prawns; and roast vegetable and grain salad. You can even throw in a honey and thyme baked Camembert wheel, sweet salted chocolate caramel prezeltinis and a schnapps paddle for good measure.
The festive kebab at Albert’s Schloss is available Monday to Saturday until Christmas. Book a table or party at Albert’s Schloss here.
