Nothing beats cracking open a bottle, filling up a glass and putting your feet up after a rough week. Add a taste of luxury, someone pouring for you and a good bit of grub and you’re onto a winner. Wine-down and try something new (without jetting off across the globe) with these brand new wine tasting sessions hosted by Club Vino.
Tantalise your tastebuds with wines from Down Under
Transport yourself Down Under with a taste of Aus and New Zealand with some of both countries most famous exports, like NZ’s floral Sauvignon Blancs and Australia’s fruity Shirazes. Known for being two of the best wine regions in the world, the session will showcase a number of tasty wines, such as a floral and tropical ‘Sauvs’ from Marlborough (as the locals would say), a light and crisp Riesling from Eden Valley, and even a “sparkling surprise” from Tasmania. Knockback some of the finest wines while learning all about their notes and how they’re made, all accompanied by a charcuterie board and a fun quiz at the end. Buy tickets here.
Transport yourself to the villages of Spain with a side of charcuterie
If you’re a fan of a full-bodied red, then this one’s for you. Showcasing some of Spain’s famous Tempranillo reds, as well as a variety of white wines, the Taste of Spain session will teach guests about some of the key regions in Spain for making wine, as well as how the country’s climate affects the taste. For those looking to expand their horizons and show off their knowledge, the session will also teach guests how to look for a bottle of good wine on a menu – a definite need if you find yourself always asking for the ‘house bottle’. The session will cover seven different wines which will be served alongside some cheese and cured meats to really get in the Español mood. Pick up tickets here.
