Fancy a taste of the U S of A without the long flight? Well, instead you can enjoy a different kind of flight, and you needn’t have to leave Manchester. Sailing into the Manchester docks of Castlefield this spring is a wine cruise serving up some great vinos from America as well as some New York flavours from…Prestwich!
Greater Manchester wine bar Grape to Grain has teamed up with bagel bosses Triple B and boozy canal boat cruise organisers The Liquorists to host a unique event on the water. Taking place on May 19, from 7pm to 10pm, this cruise is brand new for this year and is one way to experience Manchester at its finest.
Upon arrival you’ll be handed a glass of fizz before setting sail to Media City. During this three-hour cruise, you’ll try a variety of wines from all over America provided by Grape to Grain and enjoy bagels and dishes from Triple B in Prestwich.
Tickets cost £59.95 per person and includes your glass of fizz on arrival, six 50ml wine samples as part of a guided tasting, and two glasses of your favourite wine accompanied by bagels and dishes from Triple B / Eat New York. And if you can’t get enough of the wine you’ve tried on board the cruise, further glasses or bottles of wine can be purchased to enjoy on the boat or at home.
Grape to Grain and The Liquorists are running a number of booze-filled boat cruises in Manchester this spring and summer including the ‘Costa del Sol-Ford’ wine and tapas cruise featuring a selection of Spanish wines. Plus the wine bar, which has venues in Prestwich and Ramsbottom, will host a Mediterranean wines and mezze cruise, a ‘Taste of Italy’ wine and pizza cruise and a classic wine and cheese tasting cruise too.
The Liquorists started cruising the waterways of Greater Manchester back in 2010 with their first ever gin cruise and are back during the warmer months of 2023 with some new events too such as an afternoon tea cruise and ‘Pink Cocktails and 90’s Hits’ cocktail cruise.
