The much-loved, annual pierogi festival is returning to Manchester this month (this time with a Halloween twist!) and it is the perfect excuse to sample one of the top dishes from Poland. Taking place at Platzki, a Manchester restaurant serving modern Polish cuisine, on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st October from 1pm to 10pm, the festival is so popular it sees queues along Deansgate every year.
Nowhere in Manchester quite does traditional Polish dumplings like Platzki, located at Great Northern Warehouse, so this is the prime opportunity to devour some of these divine dumplings.
Choose from a range of bewitching yet mouthwatering flavours of homemade pierogi as Platzki will have plenty of different fillings for everyone to enjoy. Savoury options consist of devilishly good flavours such as pork and plum, ox heart and potato, and vegan sauerkraut and mushrooms, among others.
Plus, you’ll also find some vegan and vegetarian options too. Or try a unique twist on the Polish staple by opting for a temptingly sweet Pierogi.
Platzki began in 2018 with two food fanatics Lukasz and Przemo who took a humble Polish potato pancake and turned it into a taste fest. The Platzki owners have previously hosted a festival dedicated the potato pancake (known as placki ziemniaczanes in Polish) showcasing the best of Polish cuisine.
Guests can enjoy five pieces of perfect Pierogi for £10 over the two-day festival. Sittings for the pierogi festival start from 1pm on October 30 and 31 until 10pm so be sure to get down early in order to not miss out. No need to book, simply rock up and tuck in or grab a takeaway indulge in at home. Na zdrowie!
