The job listing states: “Step into the spotlight and become a Guest Services Team Member/Tour Guide and with this truly unique opportunity at the Coronation Street Experience.
“Based in Media City Manchester, our guests can step onto the street and walk the cobbles at the Coronation Street Experience. Get taken on guided tour of the street and external sets, discover behind-the-scenes filming secrets from over 60 years of drama. Take a trip down memory lane in the cinema, with a recap over some of the soap’s most loved and iconic moments. Enter the exhibition and discover costumes, props, and replica sets. This is more than just a tour, it’s an experience!
“We believe the best experiences start with a great foundation. Everyone on our team kicks off their journey within our Guest Services team, learning how to deliver outstanding, memorable experiences for our guests right from the front door.
“Once you’ve mastered hosting and giving our guests the warmest of welcomes, you’ll look toward your next step: becoming a Tour Guide. In this phase of your role, you’ll step into the spotlight, using a mix of expert knowledge, storytelling, and humour to deliver scripted content with your own unique, creative flair.”
It’s a zero hours contract, earning £12.81 per hour and you must be available for weekend work as this is a weekend only job – perfect for enthusiastic youngsters looking to get into work, those retired from their main professions, or anyone who’s willing to give up their weekends to the cobbles!
Interviews will be held on Friday 3rd July at the Coronation Street Experience-Media City Manchester.
The Coronation Street Experience
Having opened in 2014, with a move to MediaCity in 2023, the Coronation Street Experience invites guests onto the genuine external set of ITV’s Coronation Street – Britain’s longest-running soap. Visitors can stroll down the world-famous cobbles and see exterior sets including the Rovers Return, Roy’s Rolls and The Kabin.
Inside the Coronation Street Exhibition, guests explore exclusive exhibits, original props and costumes, production insights and interactive elements that delve into over six decades of television history. The experience offers fans a unique opportunity to understand how the much-loved series comes to life on screen.
