The rebrand will see the Lowry Outlet become Quayside MediaCityUK.
As part of a whopping £26 million development, the Lowry Outlet will become Quayside MediaCityUK, becoming the home of ITV’s I’m A Celebrity Jungle challenge – a first of its kind immersive attraction set to open in Autumn 2020.
Work is now underway to transform the outlet into one of the region’s most exciting and vibrant leisure destinations, with their new state-of-the-art Vue cinema, a Virgin Active, and waterfront leisure and dining destination, The Watergardens. The Watergardens will bring a variety of restaurants, bars and cafes to the complex, due to open this Autumn. The dining spot will bring terrific views of the Quays with waterside views and even a bespoke restaurant called “The Treehouse”, which will be situated by the I’m A Celebrity Jungle challenge.
The Jungle challenge will task participants with a number of trials and challenges with ziplines, parachute drops and climbing walls – with the iconic Winners Bridge at the end where you can get your photo snapped.
Jason Pullen, Managing Director of Lifestyle Outlets said: “We are hugely proud of our connection with the Lowry Arts Centre, which will always be part of our identity. The name Quayside MediaCityUK has been chosen to reflect our unique location as the retail and leisure heart of MediaCityUK, as well as celebrating our Salford Quays and dockside heritage.
“While outlet shopping is at the heart of what we do, Quayside MediaCityUK offers much more than a traditional outlet for our visitors, with an enhanced leisure offering, great events and entertainment, world-class museums and theatres as neighbours, plus we’re an exciting place to live and work. Quayside MediaCityUK is much more representative of the vibrant, waterfront location we are becoming and with ITV and The Watergardens opening this year, 2020 is due to be our most exciting year yet.”
