An incredibly kind gesture.
A Monton-based coffee spot has introduced a pay-it-forward scheme for locals to take advantage of – and it’s a tiny slice of kindness at a time that the world needs it the most. The Coffee Collective, a coffee truck that can be found parked up on Dukes Drive in Monton, allows customers to purchase an extra drink during their visit, which will then be paid forward to a customer who needs it the most via their brand new post-it pinboard.
Announcing the generous initiative on their social media channels just last year, the team said: “We have all been hit hard by COVID-19, so we have teamed up with @lets_eat_local and @manchestercityfoodreviews giving you the chance to enjoy our Delicious Specialty Coffee for FREE if you are struggling!”
Kicking off the scheme, Lets Eat Local paid for the first ten post-it notes, with other customers able to continue the momentum whenever they wish to. It’s not just about paying it forward, either, with customers encouraged to take a post-it if they’re feeling down or having a tough time as a result of the pandemic.
The Coffee Collective has said of the scheme: “If you have woke up and just about managed to do a walk today give yourself a treat and have a brew bought from a stranger. If you are struggling to find the cash to pay for your coffee have a free one! Do not feel ashamed or embarrassed to use these Postit notes! The community have come together to support YOU!”
The Coffee Collective is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 7.30am til 3pm on Friday and Saturdays and until 1.30pm on Sundays and you can find them at Dukes Drive Car Park, Monton, Eccles, M30 8AP. Be sure to pay it forward if you can on your next visit, or pick yourself up a free coffee using one of their post-its.
