The Cityzens’ Arms, a specially designed pub for Man City fans, is popping up in Manchester for Derby Day and it is quite the spot for lovers of the Blues. The pop-up pub has been created by Japan’s top beer and Manchester City‘s official beer partner, Asahi Super Dry, and features a photobooth, prizes and more for fans of The Citizens.
Taking over The Waldorf on Gore Street for Derby Day (March 3), The Cityzens’ Arms will be designed to celebrate the Japanese beer and the heritage of Manchester City Football Club. Doors will open from 11am and all Man City fans are welcome, plus they will have the chance to win signed football shirts on the day.
The Cityzens’ Arms will be serving Asahi Super Dry and will also host an AI photobooth for fans to get their pictures virtually with their favourite players from The Treble-winning team, as well as in the home dressing room. So if you ever fancied that selfie with the likes of Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne or Phil Foden, now is your chance!
The Cityzens’ Arms will open from March 3 and remain open for the whole of March, showing all screened matches including Liverpool vs Man City Premier League fixture on March 10, and the Man City v Man United WSL game on March 24, with Man City Matchday Live presenters reporting from the pub on both derby days.
Within The Cityzens’ Arms, all Asahi Super Dry pint glasses will contain a QR code. All fans who enter will have the chance to win an exclusive VIP experience for two adults (18+) for the Manchester City match against West Ham on May 19. The winner will enjoy a premium match day hospitality, a private dining experience at the Etihad Stadium’s Asahi Super Dry Tunnel Club, a private tour of the stadium and City Football Academy, a meet and greet with a Manchester City legend, a football skills session at the City Football Academy, plus hotel accommodation for two nights and travel.
Plus, to celebrate the fierce rivalry and acknowledging that Derby Day is different in Manchester, City’s top Derby Day moments as chosen by City fans have been immortalised in new artwork adorning limited-edition Asahi Super Dry coasters, available at The Cityzens Arms.
And if you didn’t know how significant Derby Day was in Manchester then findings from a survey conducted by Asahi Super Dry says it all. They found over 1 in 5 (23%) of Manchester City fans claimed they’d rather lose their phone or their wallet (19%) rather than lose to Manchester United – 10% have even claimed they’d rather lose their wedding ring than suffer defeat to their red neighbours.
You can find The Cityzens Arms at The Waldorf, 12 Gore St, M1 3AQ from March 3.
