Providing the ‘magic between the bread’, there’s one joint in Eccles that takes the biscuit, or sandwich rather, when it comes to elevating the deli experience in Manchester. Having been open for just a year, The Bread Club in Monton has fast become a local favourite, providing the goods in the form of chocker sandwiches alongside huge shakes, mega ice creams and gorgeous bakes.
The family-run butty shop is unapologetically northern, serving one of our absolute favourite eats, heavy on everything. From twists on worldwide classics including the Cuban and the Tuna Crunch, to irresistible inventions like the Chickenavo and Chickpea by the Sea, the shop is jam-packed with goodness, just like their sandwiches.
The Reuben on Rye has all the ingredients to sustain you, whilst the Taco Chicken Hoagie is like nothing you’ve ever imagined… unless you’ve imagined a taco on a sandwich. An artisan sub packed with chicken, topped with roasted peppers, jalapeños, and onions with melted cheese and taco sauce, the Taco Chicken is immense and definitely something to write home about, as many do in the Bread Club comments section.
The Caprese Ciabatta brings an Italian charm to the butty shop, providing a vegetarian option with its traditional fillings of mozzarella, roasted peppers, tomatoes and tomato pesto, alongside the chickpea option.
Priced between £5.50 and £7.95, all the sandwiches at The Bread Club are great value, especially when you see what you get for your buck. The team also regularly offer deals on their produce, the most recent being the bank holiday deal which included chips, a bottle of beer, a fruit shoot and two soft serve ice creams all for £10.99, so there’s always a bargain to be had.
In addition to the renowned sandwiches, The Bread Club offers their very own Chip Club on Fridays and Saturdays, with a selection of four mouth-watering chip boxes: ‘just chips’, a salt and pepper box, a taco box and the chicken taco box.
You can also build your own salad from The Bread Club’s fresh ingredients if you’re fancying more of a light lunch, and of course, pick up desert in the form of the cake special of the day, brownies, or any other sweet treat your heart desires.
If you’re needing a jolt in the morning, The Bread Club also does top quality coffee and pastries and rolls to die for, so don’t sleep on a morning treat! Bring your furry friend along, as The Bread Club is dog-friendly, and you’ve got yourself the perfect day.
You can find The Bread Club at 253 Monton Rd, Eccles, Manchester, M30 9PS.
