Like Manchester’s dog community wasn’t spoiled as it was – with endless dog-friendly venue options across the city centre alone – The Barkside has announced that they’ll be opening a brand new ‘dog salon’ at Kampus, Manchester’s newest urban neighbourhood.
Set to be a “one-stop-shop” for the cosmopolitan pooches among us, dogs and their owners alike can expect a pretty lavish experience when visiting The Barkside – boasting everything you could possibly need to keep your four-legged friend in tip-top shape.
From “street fashion” including leads, harnesses, collars and more to fun bananas and stylish treat bags – those in need of accessories and walking essentials will surely be satisfied by The Barkside’s trendy collection, which can be purchased alongside nutritious treats and even The Barkside’s very own bags of kibble.
At the in-house salon, expect lavish treatments such as doggy mud baths, de-shedding and coat cleaning, alongside tasty, frothy puppuccinos that good boys and girls can tuck into afterwards.
Elkie Davies, founder of The Barkside, said: “Dog-friendly communities like Kampus are leading the way. Other renters across Manchester are no longer banned from having pet companions and tonnes of people are working and spending more time at home. It’s meant, whether you love Dachshunds or Dobermans, you can have a place in the city centre and experience the pure joy of having a dog in your life.
“We fell in love with the space and garden at Kampus and can’t wait to bring The Barkside to the neighbourhood alongside a load of independent businesses. We’ve been turning customers away because the demand for quality grooming and daycare in Manchester is so high – it’ll be awesome to [be] bringing top-notch products, pampering and puppuccinos to our expanded puppy family.”
The Barkside will join Nell’s Pizza and Pollen, however, no opening date has been confirmed as of yet.
