There’s nothing quite like seeing a fictional brand of food pop-up in your favourite show and fantasising about seeing what the fuss is about for yourself, only to realise it’ll never happen. In this instance, however, it can. Scoops Ahoy, made famous by the deadly loveable double-act of Steve (Joe Keery) and Robin (Maya Hawke) in Stranger Things, is available in Manchester from today (November 6) thanks to a collaboration between Netflix and Pan-N-Ice.
You’ll be able to find the trusty ice cream as Pan-N-Ice in Selfridges Trafford Centre will be transformed into a Scoops Ahoy branded parlour from November 6 right until March 31, 2024. The ice cream parlour will also be heading out on tour to Bath, Bristol, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Liverpool, York, Newcastle, Kent, and Oxford. Today also happens to mark ‘Stranger Things Day’, which is the date that Will Byers went missing in 1983 in season one of the hit show.
With the creations designed with Autumn in mind, the unique flavours come with a twist, served with warm bases including cookie dough, waffle and brownie. And to complete the Scoops Ahoy experience customers can also enjoy a ‘Stranger Things’ hot chocolate, Cocoa & Contemplation, a velvety red hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream and sprinkles.
Flavours are sure to turn you upside down and they include: The Cherry Rift, comprised of a warm brownie base topped with cherry ice cream, praline pecan pieces and a mini US flag; Hey Hawkins, a vegan warm cookie dough base covered by mint choc chip ice cream, sprinkles and glacé cherry; U.S.S Butterscotch, which comes with a warm sticky toffee waffle base with butterscotch ice cream, mini butterscotch pieces and a mini caramel waffle; and The Upside Down Bubba, a warm red velvet cookie dough base with black cookies and hazelnut spread ice cream and red chocolate cracking shell. Steve and Robin would gleam with pride after handing one of these over to Dustin following his walkie-talkie request.
