Mancunians will soon finally be able to get their hands on the Chicken Sandwich that broke the internet, because Popeyes UK has announced that it will finally be landing in Manchester on Thursday 26 October.
The all-new restaurant will be in Manchester’s Piccadilly Gardens, marking the brand’s 15th opening in 2023, and the chain’s 32nd opening since landing in the UK in November 2021.
Chicken fans in Manchester will be able to experience Popeyes’ world-famous shatter crunch for themselves once they get their hands on the mouth-watering menu, including the iconic Popeyes Chicken Sandwich which contains its signature 12-hour marinated chicken, and original Southern biscuits and gravy.
What’s more, Popeyes will also be serving its brand-new breakfast menu, including the Big Breakfast Roll (a sausage patty, egg, streaky bacon, and American cheese in a soft bun), a variety of sausage, bacon, egg and cheese muffins, cajun hash browns, and its famous Louisiana buttermilk biscuits served with cinnamon sugar or Nutella.
As is Popeyes UK tradition, the new venue is set to pull out all the stops to showcase its Southern hospitality as it brings a taste of Louisiana to Manchester. To celebrate the launch, Popeyes UK will be pulling out all the stops by rolling out an orange carpet, giving away hundreds of the iconic Chicken Sandwich and hosting a live Mardi Gras style band, the Brass Funkeys, to bring the sound of New Orleans to Manchester.
On opening day, the first 3 people in the queue will win free Chicken Sandwiches for a whole year. Additionally, the first 25 customers in the queue will also be rewarded with a free Chicken Sandwich and exclusive Popeyes UK merchandise.
Not only that, to celebrate the launch of its new breakfast menu, Popeyes UK will also be offering its new Big Cajun Roll to the first 25 customers in the queue on Friday 27th October. Breakfast will start at 8am, including the mouth-watering big breakfast roll, cajun hash browns and indulgent nutella-topped buttermilk biscuits.
Tom Crowley, CEO at Popeyes UK, said: “We are thrilled to announce that a new Popeyes restaurant will be opening in Manchester later this year. The city has been a key location for us since we first landed in the UK, and we’re looking forward to bringing the spirit of New Orleans to the iconic Piccadilly Gardens. Our most recent openings have been some of the biggest to date, not just in the UK but for Popeyes globally.
“After many requests for a Popeyes UK in Manchester, we are confident that the new restaurant will be just as popular and can’t wait to announce our opening week plans soon.”
