Time to become a pasta master!
Stuck for things to do during this social distancing period? One of Manchester’s finest Italian restaurants is using their knowledge for the greater good this week, hosting a live workshop for all the family where you can learn how to make authentic Italian pasta at home. It comes at a great time too, as thousands have emptied supermarket shelves of pasta to stockpile.
Hosted by Sienna and Maurizio, the live workshop has been designed to occupy kids while they’re out of school, with a fun cooking task perfect for all ages. Creatively named “Bambini in Cucina”, the free course will teach viewers how to make the pasta from scratch, even supplying the flour for free for those who can get down to the deli. Authentic pasta is usually made from fresh with 00 flour – but if you can’t get down to the deli, it’s available to purchase from large stores like Sainsbury’s.
The live stream will take place on Salvi’s Facebook page tomorrow at 12 noon, and is perfect those craving a bit of Italian grub while the supermarkets try to re-stock their pasta shelves.
Salvi’s restaurants are currently closed, however, their deli remains open for fresh food at 1 The Corn Exchange, Corporation St, M4 3TR.
